Video by Michael McKennedy

The Preston Pond loop is located off of Notch Road in West Bolton, Vermont. It's roughly 4 miles of Vermont-sytle single-track which begins at the parking area and loops around by Lower and Upper Preston Pond.

The video footage was shot over two different rides. The video ends with a 40 MPH ride down Notch Road (on the West Bolton side). The video is accompanied by the song The National Anthem from the album "Kid A" by Radiohead.

The Stream : July 1, 2008

Posted by Mic on July 03, 2008
the Stream : West Bolton, Vermont

"The Stream" has been being constructed since 2001. What was once a mosquito and litter infested, sometimes stagnant, overgrown Vermont mountain stream has been transformed into a play area for my kids.

The Stream has two hand crafted waterfalls, seven bridges, a fort, a swing, walking paths with railings, stairs and path guides, rock walls and stump seating. It has been dug out by hand as well as by shovel. It has been widened, dug deeper and more narrow to allow for constant flow, and embankments created to prevent spring-thaw caused overflow. The Stream reconstruction project has been maintained by me! Michael McKennedy

Bodysnatchers Preston Pond Ride

Posted by Mic on June 30, 2008
Moutain Bike Riding

I took a mountain bike ride yesterday up around the Preston Pond Loop here in West Bolton, Vermont. It's a teriffic ride! I strapped my camera to the handlebars and shot some video footage. View the visually enhanced ride set to the song Bodysnatchers by the musically superior band called Radiohead. You won't see any moutain bike crashes or injuries. (I usually try to avoid crashing on my moutain bike, but, sometimes a quick launch over the handlebars can really wake one up!)

June 10, 2008 - a storm rolled in. I caught this short video clip of a lightning storm.

This video was shot with a digital camera. There are 3 of the same clip "strung" together so you don't have to keep rewinding - although that would be pretty simple to do!

West Bolton Vermont Map

West Bolton, Vermont + a map + some markers (not the kind you draw with) + photographs = the map you will see if you click on the image of the link below which reads "See The Map". I guess that I could have linked the text in the last sentence (or any text for that matter) but instead I am going to force you to click somewhere else.

Playing around with Google Maps and images. This will be one of those on-going projects. The plan is to load this map up with as many images of West Bolton, Vermont (and possibly beyond) as I can shoot. I do realize that this seems like a good idea at the moment but I also realize that this might be one of those "projects" that fades away on the priority list but only time will tell.

Have You Seen This Man? :: April 2008

Keith McKennedy :: April 2005

Keith McKennedy (left)... last seen December 2007 - do you know this man?

If you see this man on the street make sure you go up to him and give him money! You too can make a difference in one man's life by giving away lots of your hard (or not so hard) earned money! He doesn't care for coins but will gladly accept anything but pennies. He really prefers cash. Go ahead, change a life today!

Okay, so he is not missing at all but I (I mean he) could sure use some money!

Or if you prefer...you can send me the money...and I swear, it will not get to him!

Footnote: (for Keith only - this means that YOU should not read any further!) -- Keith don't forget - I want 50% of all profits! I accept cash only! and I expect you to drive to my house to deliver it personally!
Donations submitted using the button above will not go to Keith at all. I will keep the money. Just remember, it's the thought that counts! Right Keith?

Update: April 10
I received an email tip yesterday...Keith might possibly be in Kansas! This is the text of that transmission:
Keith McKennedy 2005

"I realize the search has been long and hard, and I know the family, has , not slept, many a night, wondering, where is keith. So, after a long time deciding, if this is the right time, I've decided, "YES" I said, Yes. So, here it is, I'm in ..m..kj'klm.kj'n lk hold on it's breaking up, I'm in ...24ttgsvp ieu,,,,wsi...wait...awai twat....m.hold on, dagnabbit,.nklduio ,,, KANSAS. Please send fake money,,, to mic. So, now you all know, good luck with everything......Peace out!"

This email came from someone named Damon but I think that it might be a plea from Keith himself! The only thing that throws off this theory is that Keith did not typically use the phrase "peace out!". We are pursuing this lead now but in the meantime, don't forget to send money to Mic and thanks for to all who have donated thus far! Without your support our mission to find Keith would be futile.

Tirra "Bones" McKennedy RIP

Tirra "Bones" McKennedy : 1994 - 2008: RIP

After 14 years of being the worlds greatest lapcat, Tirra "Bones" McKennedy passed away March 13 in his West Bolton home.

"He was very comfortable when he went; lying in the living room with his family by his side. He took one final gasp for breath and his body just shut down, it was a peaceful death. Tirra will be missed more than anyone could know!", explained Mic.

"Tirra has seen it all. He was there when Barb and I began dating. He moved to Vermont with us. He watched as we learned how to raise two kids. He was a wonderful family member and friend. Until the next time T-Bones! Say Hello to Misty for us!" - Mic, Barb, Ari & Kai

New Notch Road land-speed record on my mountain bike! Notch Road(Not the steep side of Notch Road - I am talking about the last hill that spills out to Stage Road in West Bolton of corse.) 42.5 MPH on the twisting dry gravel road! Previous record was 40 - (which I achieved on Saturday - yesterday). I am beginning to think that 55 MPH on Notch Road (on the Route 2 side - previous Notch Road record - approx. 45 MPH) might feel pretty good!

June 23, 2008 :: 4:59am

New upper Stage Road land-speed record on my mountain bike! 40.9 MPH on Stage Road (dirt)! Previous record was 39.5 - from back in 2006. I should be able to get 50 MPH on Notch Road (previous Notch Road record - approx. 45 MPH)!

Tirra... I see him.. I hear him... but he's dead??

February 16, 2008 :: 5:25am

Enjoying Thom Yorke's "The Eraser"... currently - the freaky song called Skip Divided. The man can make music! Jetstream is another, check out these lyrics...

This is a ghost coach
That we are riding
Damp decay and splintering
Between the whipcrack and the moonbeams
I can hear some people laughing

We need a rubber man
We need a stretchy man
I'm not sure i am welcome

You are a fool
And this is over
Over the cliffs of dover

In my humble opinion...the man can really entertain, his words (and music of coarse), really create imagery!

December 29, 2007

I have been listening to a mere two albums for about two weeks now. There have been a couple of sporadic times when I put my iPod on shuffle but for a few solid weeks I have been listening to Radiohead's In Rainbows (I am listening to Radiohead's Kid A as I write this) and, this one might be a bit strange for me, Emily Haines & The Soft Skeleton Knives Don't Have Your Back.

I really enjoy Metric (Emily Haines is the front-person) but this is not my typical taste in music but you could say I am addicted. It's the type of album that you need to listen to a few times (and if you are male you should ignore your macho-ness), but when it gets you, it really gets you! And of coarse Radiohead amaze me every time they release anything or I see them live (which I have had the pleasure of doing four times now).
